The Promise
Updated: Nov 29, 2022

As for you, you meant to harm me, but God intended it for a good purpose, so he could preserve the lives of many people, as you can see this day. Genesis 50:20
Joseph’s brothers hated him - they didn’t just dislike him, they hated him. They even purposed to kill him, but then they sold him into slavery.
For years Joseph walked in the un-fulfillment of promise, yet he walked in faithfulness to God! Finally, after many setbacks and discouragements, the promise is fulfilled and Joseph is second only to the King.
Joe, well, he made some mistakes along the way. He shared his dream that was for himself and not for others. He told his brothers that he was going to rule over them. That was the promise he was given by way of a dream. His brothers didn’t like that too much, so they attempted to kill him. It took over twenty years for that dream to manifest in reality.
How long have you waited for God’s promise to you to be fulfilled? God is not short on time, but He is long on patience.
For this reason the LORD is ready to show you mercy; he sits on his throne, ready to have compassion on you. Indeed, the LORD is a just God; all who wait for him in faith will be blessed. Isaiah 30:18
