Peace

Walking on Water, Feeding the 5000, taxes from the mouth of a fish, and on and on.

God is Faithful; it’s one of his names; it’s who he is.

When the waves of life get crazy and begin to sink the boat, Jesus whispers peace, be still.

I’m at the age where many of my friends are either retiring or getting ready to. It’s when you evaluate what you have saved in preparation for this time in life. You wonder if it will be enough?

Speaking about paying the temple tax, Jesus said, “.... so go down to the lake and throw in a line. Open the mouth of the first fish you catch, and you will find a large silver coin. Take it and pay the tax for both of us.” Matthew 17:27 (NLT)

Malachi 3:10 says, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.

Finally, In Matthew 8:23-27: Then Jesus got into the boat and started across the lake with his disciples.

Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm.

The disciples were amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked. “Even the winds and waves obey him!”

Jesus paid his taxes from the mouth of a fish!

Jesus fed 5,000 from two loaves and five fish!

Jesus said, Peace, Be Still, and the waves obeyed!
