There is a movement across the world that encompasses false teaching. These churches teach just enough of the Word so as to tickle the ears of people.
People are flocking to these churches, their congregations number in the thousands, even tens of thousands.
They have large, public ministry real estate. You can find them all over YouTube or on your favorite streaming service.
Some of these churches have great music with sound theology, but the teaching from the platform is false.
Matthew 24:24-28 says; For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones.
See, I have warned you about this ahead of time.
“So if someone tells you, ‘Look, the Messiah is out in the desert,’ don’t bother to go and look. Or, ‘Look, he is hiding here,’ don’t believe it!
For as the lightning flashes in the east and shines to the west, so it will be when the Son of Man comes.
Just as the gathering of vultures shows there is a carcass nearby, so these signs indicate that the end is near.
2 Timothy 4:3-4 says: For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths.
The tricky thing about the false teaching is that is quotes some of the verse, or some of the teaching, but cuts off just short of the meatiest instruction.
The best way to identify false teaching is to saturate yourself in the Word of God. Know what the Bible says so well that teaching that doesn’t line up waves a bright red flag for you.
Charlie Avila, a Pastor from Clovis, California, has an excellent book and audio teaching on the subject of False Teaching. I highly recommend checking out his resources for your personal study. His book can be purchased on Amazon for a very reasonable price.
